What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a gel-based dermal filler that is specially designed to correct the lines and wrinkles around your mouth and nose. Treatment areas include smile lines, vertical lip lines and marionette lines. The best part of your NYC Juvederm treatment is that the results last for up to one year.

What can I expect during a consultation for Juvederm treatment?

Effective treatment with Juvederm depends upon a clear understanding of your cosmetic goals and realistic expectations of your procedure. One of our board-certified dermatologists will perform a comprehensive examination of your skin and discusses your treatment options to help you decide if Juvederm is right for you, or if you would benefit from an alternative dermal filler.

What is the difference between Restylane and Juvederm?

Juvederm contains a higher concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid and is more concentrated than Restylane. Whether that translates into a major difference in duration of effect remains to be seen. Because of its cross linking, Juvederm is smoother and less viscous and easier to inject. Some patients report that there are fewer bumps and less pain with Juvederm and that the results last around eight months, as compared to six for Restylane.

Where is the Juvederm procedure performed?

Juvederm is a minimally-invasive, non-surgical treatment for lines and wrinkles. The procedure is performed in our office.

Is anesthesia used during the Juvederm procedure?

Juvederm is administered with a fine needle. While most patients do not experience discomfort during the procedure, you may be sensitive to the sensation of needles. Dr. Goldberg can administer a topical or local anesthesia to help you remain comfortable.

How is the actual Juvederm procedure performed?

Juvederm is a facial filler that is injected into the treatment area. Depending on the extent of correction, you may receive multiple injections in a single treatment area, as well as injections in several treatment areas.

How long does the actual Juvederm procedure last?

Juvederm treatment, like Restylane treatment, is a quick, simple treatment that can be performed in a matter of minutes depending upon the area being corrected.

What is the recovery like after the Juvederm procedure?

The recovery period after a Juvederm procedure is minimal. Most patients are able to resume their daily activities as soon as they leave the office.

How long do the results of Juvederm last?

Typically, the results of Juvederm treatments last six months and possibly as long as nine months. If Juvederm is used to treat the eye area, your results may last up to one year.

What is the cost of a Juvederm treatment?

When it comes to Juvederm and injectables in general, every patient is different. After a thorough assessment by one of our board-certified dermatologists, we will determine the extent of treatment to reach your cosmetic goals. Once this is done, our office will provide you with a quote. We also accept CareCredit® and Alphaeon™ Credit to help you get the treatment you are seeking.
