Question:
I’ve heard that Xeomin has no additives. What does this mean for the patient? Is it good or bad?
Answer:
Xeomin does not have the amount of additional proteins that are seen with both Botox and Dysport. In theory as one gets more and more Botox and Dysport injections over a lifetime, these proteins will be processed kind of like allergy shots. The patient will become desensitized to the Botox or Dysport (because of the associated protein) and the Botox and Dysport will not work as well. In practicality this has never been seen and may only be a theoretical. Having said that, Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are all great for treating wrinkles. The art of the treatment is the approach used by your physician – not the actual product.
